1  . Does Speed Dating cost anything?
A : Yes, £20 - £25 depending on location. This fee covers your event ticket, next-day matching, and an initial drink for the evening!

2  . Can I attend more than once?
A : Yes. Sometimes finding that special someone can be a numbers game and we would love to have you back for a second time around if you wish to attend again.

3  . Will I meet the same people if I attend another event?
A : You may meet one or two people that you have seen before, but the majority will be new faces. If you want to know who will be at an event that you have previously met, just email us and ask.

4  . What if I don't make any matches?
A : If you attend a Speed Dating event and do not make any matches, you are invited to come back for half price!

5  . What if I'm not quite the age of the "age range" listed?
A : We encourage you to come to the group that is closest to your own age, as you will get the most matches that way. 1 or 2 years outside the "range" may be ok, but any more than 2 years we would recommend you try and consider another group.

6  . Can I pay at the door? When should I sign up?
A : You must sign up in advance, and you need to pre-pay. This is because we have to confirm who is coming in order to organize the event with an equal number of men and women. Sign up us soon as you know you can attend because events fill up quickly!

7  . What if the event I want to attend is full?
A : If the event is full, we can put you on a waiting list. People do change their minds about which event they want to attend and some people do not pay in advance. We can often offer these spots to the people on the waiting list at a reduced rate.

8  . What should I wear?
A : The most important thing is to wear what you feel comfortable in. A lot of our guests come straight from work, so suits etc. are fine. The main thing is to be confident and be yourself and the easiest way to do this is to dress in something that makes you feel comfortable and that is within the dress code of the venue. However, remember that you are trying to make a good impression at speed dating and first impressions count!

9  . What kind of contact information gets exchanged?
A : You decide what contact information you want us to give your matches. Usually it is a e-mail address or a mobile phone number. Remember, we only give out your contact information to your matches - people who you wish to see again and who wish to see you again, no-one else.

10  . How do I pay?
A : You may pay by sending a cheque or postal order to Aashanti Ltd, or by using the Paypal link on the Event Booking page.

11  . How long does an Aashanti event last?
A : The organised element of a speed dating lasts around 3 hours, including the breaks, depending on the number of guests attending. Although your host may leave, most of our guests stay behind after the event for a few drinks and since the ice is broken already, find that this is a great opportunity to get to know each other a little better.

12  . How many dates will I get at an Aashanti event?
A : This is dependent on the size of the venue, type of event & age group, but at a speed dating event for 23-35 you will normally get around 20 -25 dates and around 14 - 18 dates for a 36-50 aged group event.

13  . Is three minutes per date long enough?
A : Three minutes can seem like a very long time with someone you don’t like! In our experience three minutes is just about the right amount of time to decide whether there’s any chemistry and you’re prepared to invest a couple of hours in a follow-up date.

14  . What do I say and how do I say it?
A : Relax and be yourself – everyone is in the same boat at a speed dating evening. Most people make a decision within the first 30 seconds of meeting somebody as to whether or not they like them, so first impressions really count. Human beings in the main make up to 30 subconscious decisions, almost instantly, when we meet someone for the first time. Mostly this is based on the visual impact i.e. what you see. What you hear comes next followed by what you actually say. In a nutshell, be yourself when you answer questions but be sure to ask questions that the person opposite is likely to be interested in answering. In this way you will quickly get a dialogue working and first impressions will be that both of you enjoyed your brief meeting and will want to meet again to find out more.

15  . When will I be charged?
A : We charge your credit/debit card when you book your ticket to an Aashanti event.

16  . What name appears on my credit/debit card statement?
A : Your booking will be charged to your credit/debit card in the name of Aashanti Ltd

17  . What is your cancellation policy?
A : We are not able to accept cancellations, as the quality and success of our events would be compromised by an uneven ratio of males/females. However, if you are able to provide us with at least 72 hours notice via email, we will do our best to move you to another Aashanti event.

18  . What sorts of people go to a speed dating/singles event?
A : Most of our guests are professionals looking for a fun time and to meet new people. They are normal, interesting people who just don’t have time to meet other like-minded singles, through work pressures, hectic lifestyles or closed social groups.

19  . Do many people go on their own?
A : About a third of women go to the events on their own, about twice as many men do the same.

20  . Can I bring a friend?
A : Definitely - you are very welcome to bring friends along with you and of course many of our guests do.

21  . How do I find out the location of the Aashanti event?
A : You are able to find out the exact address and see a map of all our venues, by simply clicking on the venue from our website. We also send an email confirmation with directions before the event you have booked to attend.

22  . How do I collect my ticket?
A : Once you booking has been successful, you will automatically be sent a booking confirmation via email or SMS. This acts as your proof of purchase. Your name will then be put onto the Guest List for the event, so when you arrive, your name will already be on the door. Post or Fax.
